Terms & Conditions

What you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. Kept plain and fair.

Last updated: January 2025 · Version 1.4

Summary: Buy from us, get exactly what we say you will. If anything goes wrong, we fix it. If you change your mind, we make it easy. We don't hide nasty surprises in the small print.

1. About Us

The Modfather Ltd, registered in England & Wales (), trading as The Modfather. Registered address: 21 Keyworth Place, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S13 7GX.

By placing an order or using our repair service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Products & Pricing

All prices are shown in GBP (£) including VAT at the current UK rate unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors — if a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we'll contact you before processing your order.

Product images and descriptions are provided in good faith. Minor variations in colour or appearance may occur due to screen calibration.

Stock: All orders are subject to availability. If an item goes out of stock after you order, we will contact you promptly and offer a full refund, alternative product, or pre-order option.

3. Ordering

When you place an order, you will receive an order confirmation email. This is acknowledgment of your order, not acceptance. We accept your order when we dispatch the goods, at which point a contract is formed.

We reserve the right to cancel any order for legitimate reasons including pricing errors, fraud detection, or stock issues. A full refund will be issued immediately in such cases.

4. Payment

Products are purchased through eBay — payment is handled entirely by eBay's checkout. We do not take card payments on this website. Repair payments are taken in store before work begins.

We do not collect or store card details. All product payments go through eBay.

5. Delivery

Delivery times are estimates. We are not liable for delays caused by couriers, severe weather, or events outside our control. Title and risk pass to you on delivery.

6. Returns & Refunds (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it without giving a reason (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

To start a return:

Beyond 14 days, goods can be returned under our 30-day goodwill policy if unused, in original condition and packaging.

Faulty goods: Under the Consumer Rights Act, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If a product develops a fault within 6 months of purchase, we will assume it was faulty at purchase and repair, replace or refund — your choice.

7. Repair Services

All repairs are subject to the following terms:

Water damage and board-level repairs carry a reduced 6-month warranty due to the unpredictable nature of corrosion damage.

8. Trade-In Programme

Online valuations are estimates only. Final values are confirmed in-store after physical inspection. Estimates are valid for 14 days. We reserve the right to revise the offer after inspection if the device condition does not match what was described.

Trade-in credit is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash after the transaction is complete.

9. Warranty on New Products

All new products come with the manufacturer's warranty (typically 1–2 years). This is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Our custom-built PCs carry a 2-year parts and labour warranty provided by The Modfather directly.

10. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited under English law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant product or service.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential or economic loss (loss of data, loss of profit, business interruption) except where required by law.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on this website including text, images, logos and design is owned by or licensed to The Modfather Ltd. You may not reproduce it without written permission.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

For disputes, we recommend first contacting us directly. If unresolved, you may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
